Joshua R. Jacobson is founder and director of the Zamir Chorale in Boston, the most prestigious Jewish choral group in North America. He holds a B.A. in Music from Harvard College, an M.A. in Choral Conducting from the New England Conservatory, and a D.M.A. in Musical Arts from the University of Cincinnati. He is professor of music and director of choral activities at Northeastern University, and adjunct professor of Jewish music at Hebrew College.

This is a very helpful book for the novice who is trying to learn how to chant Torah. It has clear explanations, good graphics and a lot of useful information about pronunciation as well as cantillation.

Good book, very helpful to a rabbinical student like me! Easy to follow. With regular practice, cantillation learning takes place well with this book by your side.

Student edition was priced moderately and saved alot over buying the full edition which costs about 6 times as much. Perfect for student who wants to learn more about chanting the Torah. Contained only the essential parts of the full text, omitting the unecessarily complicated material.
