About the Author

Margaret Littman is both an old-timer and a relative newcomer to Nashville. After graduating from Vanderbilt University, she left Tennessee for points north over the course of her writing career. This book came out just in time to plan our trip, and I carried it with me all over town. I loved the short and sometimes quirky descriptions, which told more about the real experience at some of the attractions than the brochures did. The maps were also really helpful, especially when we weren't right downtown.

I'm a Frommer's Travel Book loyalist, but Frommer's does not have a guide to Nashville, TN, so I purchased this one instead. We already had researched some things to see and do online, but this book washelpful to take on the trip as WiFi is not always dependable out on the street or even in our hotel room. It also provided interesting background information on specific sites and Nashville in general.

This book was a big help in planning our vacation. It was current enough to provide good information but it is highly recommended that you still verify everything online or make a phone call. Hours change, prices change, places move or go out of business. A book can't update that quickly. For providing solid ideas and help in planning a trip though this is a guide I can highly recommend.

We recently spent a few days in Nashville and this handbook came in very handy for what to see and how to get around.

A lot of useful information on neighborhoods and shopping. We took the Nash Trash tour because of this book and were thoroughly entertained.

This was about as good as a travel book about Nashville can get. I HIGHLY recommend this Moon one over "Insider's Guide to Nashville". The Moon book has maps with recommended sights marked and is so much easier to use and plan a daily itinerary of things near each other.

Good recommendations! The maps are not very detailed though
